We acknowledge that we are on the stolen land of the Pocumtuc, Nonotuck, and Nipmuc who are the original inhabitants of western Massachusetts. As the indigenous stewards of this land and in accordance with their traditions, the Pocumtuc, Nonotuck, and Nipmuc have never ceded, lost nor forgotten their responsibilities as the caretakers of this place, as well as for all peoples who reside in their traditional territory. As guests, we recognize that we benefit from living and working on their traditional homeland. We wish to pay our respects by acknowledging the Ancestors and Relatives of the Pocumtuc, Nonotuck, and Nipmuc communities and by affirming their sovereign rights as First Peoples. And we acknowledge that land acknowledgements are not enough.  We pay “land taxes” to local tribes wherever we are able. We encourage you to visit this site for more information and resources, and to join us in directly supporting your local Native American communities.
